One of them was a traditional marking of World Animal Day for the ninth time gathering animal lovers from all around the country in Vilnius. The patron the event was the Member of the European Parliament Petras Auštrevičius.
The whole event was set in one of the most beautiful parks of Vilnius on the river Neris out in the nature.
Besides the various programmes covering different activities such as service dog presentations, dog junior handler‘s programme, dog breeds presentation, rally obedience competition and dog training schools tutorials, the representatives of the State Veterinary Service, Vilnius Municipality, veterinary clinics, various dog sports associations, breed clubs, animal welfare organisations and pet supply companies openly invited the big number of visitors to offer information and specialised knowledge on health, breed specific traits and responsible dog keeping. A special area was dedicated to the youngest visitors of the event where the students of Vilnius University of Applied Science organised interactive activities, workshops and competitions for them.
A sunny autumn afternoon gathered crowds of people – dog lovers, owners, visitors, families – and all of them with an enthusiastic attitude sharing a common value – respect and love for animals. It was a great celebration for all of them.
